The night: our tips for a good night's sleep

Our tips for sleeping well

Sleeping well is not just a matter of time, but of quality.
Of space, light, temperature, materials, and bed position.
It is a daily gesture that becomes wellness when everything — around and within us — is in balance.

Lanuit is born from this vision: from the desire to transform rest into a personal experience of care and harmony.
For almost fifty years, we have been creating rest systems with artisanal attention, Italian ergonomics and design, but above all with a cultural approach that starts from listening to the real needs of people.

Because sleeping well is not just closing your eyes, but opening up to your own well-being.

The bedroom is a space that speaks of intimacy and balance. The position of the bed, the light, the ventilation, and the choice of the headboard deeply influence the quality of sleep. Drawing on our experience in rest systems, we have gathered the most useful tips for better sleep, inspired by both ergonomic practice and the culture of living. Why shouldn't the bed be placed in front of the window? Placing the bed in front of a window can cause discomfort due to light, drafts, or external noises. It is better to place it in a more protected area of the room, where the body senses stability and tranquility. What is the best position for the bed to sleep well? The headboard should rest against a solid wall, with a view of the door but not perfectly aligned with it. This arrangement promotes safety, balance, and serenity, essential elements for restorative sleep. Why should you not sleep with your feet towards the door? According to tradition and also for comfort reasons, sleeping with your feet facing the door can create a sense of vulnerability and encourage unwanted drafts. It is better to orient the bed so that the body perceives protection and peace. Where should the mirror be placed in the bedroom? Mirrors should not directly reflect the bed because they can create reflections of light or movement that disturb sleep. The ideal position is lateral or on a neutral wall, to maintain visual harmony and energy balance. Is it better to sleep with the window open or closed? A slight exchange of air promotes breathing and improves sleep quality. Simply opening the window a few centimeters to keep the environment fresh and oxygenated, without excessive heat loss. Does the night air harm you? No. Sleeping in a well-ventilated environment promotes oxygenation and improves sleep quality. However, it is not necessary to keep the window open all night: it is sufficient to ensure proper air exchange before going to bed or upon waking up, even just for a few minutes. During colder months, it is advisable to ventilate the room in a targeted manner, based on the heating on-off times, and then close the windows to maintain thermal comfort. The goal is to find the right balance between well-being and energy savings, keeping the ideal room temperature between 18 and 20 degrees for deep and restorative sleep.
